Cookie Policy

This policy explains how Williamson Scaffolding Ltd uses cookies on this website, and how you control them.

What a cookie is

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device so it can remember something between pages or between visits. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work in the same way and are covered by this policy.

Our approach

We set no analytics or marketing cookie until you have told us we may. When you first arrive, only strictly necessary cookies are in use. The banner gives you three options: accept all, reject all, or manage your preferences and choose category by category. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the Cookie Settings link in the footer of every page.

The fonts used on this site are served from our own website, so no third party is contacted when a page loads.

The cookies we use

Strictly necessary

These are needed for the website and its security to work and cannot be switched off. They are the only cookies in use before you answer the banner.

• wsl_consent, which records the choice you made on the cookie banner and the date and time you made it, so we do not ask again and so we have a record of your consent. It lasts up to 180 days.
• __cf_bm, set by Cloudflare, the service that protects this site from bots and malicious traffic. It helps tell a real visitor from an automated one. It lasts around 30 minutes and is set on every visit because the site could not be kept secure without it.

WordPress may also set a short lived session or security cookie when a form is submitted or when someone logs in to the website.

Analytics, only if you allow them

Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. We use Google Analytics for this. Nothing in this category loads unless you allow it, and until you do, Google is instructed not to store anything on your device.

If you allow analytics, the following cookies are set by Google Analytics:

• _ga, which tells one visitor apart from another. It lasts up to two years.
• _ga_ followed by a short code for our specific Analytics property, which keeps track of your current visit. It lasts up to two years.

These cookies do not tell us your name or your address. If you refuse or ignore the banner, neither is set.

Marketing, only if you allow them

Marketing cookies would let us measure advertising and show relevant ads elsewhere. Nothing in this category loads unless you allow it.

Changing your mind

Use the Cookie Settings link in the footer of any page to reopen the banner and change your choice. You can also delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. If you clear your cookies, the banner will ask again on your next visit.
